Looking at the change, I had guessed she had about $50,but it turned out she had $87! Score! I want her to start learning the value of money, so she'll be more inclined to do her chores, so I gave her a mini lesson:
"So, this is what you do: you can take some of the money to buy something you've been wanting, and you donate some to someone who might need help, and then you save the rest."
Bug was happy with this, and was ready to go to Wal-Mart to pick out something she wanted.
I was driving down the aisle of the parking lot, and saw a parking space on my left, so I activated my signal and waited in the aisle for the oncoming traffic to pass. Traffic was heavy and I waited for three cars to pass, and then the fourth car (who wasn't even in the aisle yet when I first started waiting) came and took-- blatantly STOLE-- my parking space.
"Ooh, that lady is dirty!" I muttered while I drove on to get another spot.
Bug was thoughtful for a moment, then said, "Maybe I should give her one of my dollars. She can wash her car and then she won't be so dirty."
That brought a smile to my face. My kid is so dang cute. Who can hold a grudge after that?
|This is what she bought with her own money... it's a salon chair for a doll. She doesn't even own a doll.|
